1. What is semaglutide?
It is the generic prescription for Ozempic; it has been used to treat type 2 diabetes since 2017 and was found to measurable outcomes for weight loss. It is a GLP-1 agonist that mimmicks the GLP-1 hormone found in the body
2. How does it work?
Helps to control blood sugar by increasing the availability of insulin, decreasing glucagon production and slows gastric emptying which yeilding feelings of fullness
3. Who should not take semaglutide?
Pregnant or plan to get pregnant in 2 months, lactating, caution with history of gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, acute kidney injury, history of suicidal ideations or behaviors, family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia, and those with a BMI < 27
4. What is the cost?
$400 for your first month, $300 a month thereafter includes peptides and dose adjustments
5. What is included?
An hour long consultation with our nurse practitioner to get to know you: your goals, lifestyle habits, and barriers to weight loss to create an individualized plan that sets you up for success. You will recieve 4 pre-filled insulin syringes each month along with a monthly check in to support your progress.
